What it does

The XC12 TR SG is optimised for the rear wheel. In cross-country, the front looks for grip and steering, the rear looks for traction and efficiency: these are two different specifications, and Tufo chose to treat them separately rather than make an average tyre.

The tread

A speed pattern, with closely spaced centre knobs for continuous rolling, with shoulders that stay stable when leaning on dry or wet ground. The limit is clear and stated: deep, sticky mud is not its terrain.

How to pair it

To be paired with an XC11 at the front for versatile use, or an XC14 at the front on technical, wet courses. Casing 210/375 TPI, reinforced sidewalls, Grip Silica compound. Tubeless ready, compatible with hookless rims, 29 × 2,35.

What's inside

Standard puncture protection An extra layer of rubberised casing under the tread: a sufficient barrier against most punctures, without hurting efficiency.	Grip Silica compound Nanostructured silica tread compound, tailored to each discipline. Its strong point is grip, especially in the rain.
Airtight TR rubber Nano-block inner rubber, built into the casing, which holds the air without an inner tube. It is what makes a tyre “tubeless ready”.	Nylon-reinforced sidewalls A nylon layer on the sidewalls of gravel and XC tyres: cut protection and stability at low pressure.
