Tubular Tufo XC2 Plus - 27.5"

The top-of-the-range, very light MTB tubular: universal knobs for everything except deep mud.

What it does

The XC2 Plus SP is Tufo's top-of-the-range cross-country tubular. The MTB tubular is a singularity of the brand — almost nobody else makes them any more — and it has a precise reason to exist: it does not pinch. With no inner tube between tyre and rim, pinch flats disappear, which allows pressures nobody can hold in tubeless.

The tread

Universal knobs, placed for traction when climbing and accelerating, effective on all terrain except deep mud. The compound is an Oil Silica blend of 55 Shore A — soft enough to grip on rock, dense enough to last.

Construction and fitting

Casing 210/375 TPI, reinforced sidewalls, puncture-protection layer. In 26, 27.5 and 29 inches, 2.00 section. Fitted with Tufo double-sided tape for MTB tubulars, no glue and no drying time.

What's inside

Oil Silica compound Soft compound (55 Shore A) of MTB and cyclo-cross tubulars: some oil in the activated-silica blend, for traction and comfort.	Nylon-reinforced sidewalls A nylon layer on the sidewalls of gravel and XC tyres: cut protection and stability at low pressure.
No pinch flats With no inner tube, an MTB tubular cannot get a pinch flat against the rim: you can ride at lower pressure.	Fitting with Tufo tape The tubular is fitted on Tufo double-sided tape: no drying time, no fumes, and a red marker strip to centre the tubular.
Composite puncture-protection layer A composite layer of rubber and fibres placed under the tread, which allows a thinner tread — and so better efficiency — without losing resistance.
