What it does

The Speedero is the fastest-rolling of the three Tufo gravel tyres. From tarmac to forest tracks via cobbles, grass and gravel, it favours acceleration and cruising speed. It is the tyre for mixed courses where you spend more time rolling than gripping.

The tread

A wide, shallow-cut tread: the rubber works continuously in the centre, which explains the sharp acceleration and quiet rolling. The shoulders are still shaped for cornering grip, but the tyre does not claim to replace a knob in slippery terrain.

The casing and sidewalls

Casing 210/375 TPI, supple, which smooths out irregularities and stops the tyre bouncing: riding stays stable where a stiff tyre becomes nervous. The sidewalls are protected by the nylon layer, and a puncture-protection layer covers the tread. Tubeless ready, aramid beads, compatible with hookless rims. In 36, 40 and 44 mm.

Standard puncture protection An extra layer of rubberised casing under the tread: a sufficient barrier against most punctures, without hurting efficiency.	Grip Silica compound Nanostructured silica tread compound, tailored to each discipline. Its strong point is grip, especially in the rain.
Airtight TR rubber Nano-block inner rubber, built into the casing, which holds the air without an inner tube. It is what makes a tyre “tubeless ready”.	Nylon-reinforced sidewalls A nylon layer on the sidewalls of gravel and XC tyres: cut protection and stability at low pressure.
