Invisible once the tyre is fitted, rim tape still prevents many a puncture: it keeps the inner tube away from the spoke heads and the edges of the rim. Velox offers it for every wheel, from a 12-inch kids' wheel to a mountain bike.
Which rim tape for which use?
PVC for everyday use, high pressure when the tyre is pumped hard, or cotton, by the roll or by the piece. Choose it by wheel diameter and inner rim width, from 10 to 42 mm depending on the model.
Going tubeless takes three things, all gathered here: a tubeless rim tape that makes the rim airtight (19 to 42 mm), a Presta or Schrader tubeless valve, and sealant that plugs small punctures. For workshops: rolls up to 100 m, jars and display boxes.
