The principle
A quality hub lasts much longer than a rim. Rather than buying a whole new wheel, you send us the hub alone: we rebuild it with a new rim, spokes and nipples, suited to the bike's real use. Tensioning, stress-relieving, then a second manual truing — lateral and radial runout and dish set by hand.
Road, gravel, MTB, city, hybrid, trekking, e-bike, cargo and longtail: we build all types of wheels, singly or in series.
What the fee includes
- New rim, spokes and nipples (Mach1 or Ryde depending on the chosen reference).
- Assembly, tensioning and full adjustment in the workshop.
- Tracked Chronopost return, delivered against signature. Optional € 500 insurance.
- 160 € incl. VAT per wheel, whatever the rim up to 25C internal width; 170 € incl. VAT from 27C (Kargo XL, Trucky 30, 35 and 40).
Outbound shipping is at your expense. Bike shops, workshops and manufacturers: trade pricing on request from the sales department.
What you choose
- The rim: 24 Mach1 and Ryde models, from 16″ to 700C, in V-Brake or disc, from 13C to 40C, tubeless ready or not. The online selector refines the selection from what you know about your wheel and compares neighbouring widths.
- The spokes: Mach1 Plus 14G stainless as standard, or reinforced Mach1 Track, thickened at the elbow, where a spoke breaks. Silver or black. If in doubt, let our builders choose according to your use.
- The rim tape: optional, cut to the exact size of the chosen rim.
If no rim matches, we can look into a special order.
Is your wheel eligible?
- Yes: aluminium rim, bent spokes (J-bend), hub in good condition.
- No: carbon rim, straight-pull hub.
Doubts about the condition of the hub? Three two-minute checks are enough: side play, axle rotation, cassette body. The details are explained on reparermaroue.fr.
To check before sending
- Send only the hub. A complete wheel, or one partly dismantled, incurs a dismantling service charged in addition.
- Motor hub: check the cable. Split sheath or bare wire, see a specialist: we don't touch it and don't check it.
- Flanges: look around the spoke holes. Tensioning can make a fatigued flange give way: rare, invisible to the eye, outside our responsibility.
- Packaging: a box of suitable size, preferably with polystyrene protection.
