Tubular Tufo Flexus Cubus 33 SG

The all-round cyclo-cross tubular: aggressive knobs for the toughest terrain, and it still rolls on dry ground.

What it does

The Cubus 33 SG is Tufo's all-round cyclo-cross tubular: the one you fit when you don't yet know what the course will be like. It holds in mud and slop, as you'd expect from an aggressive tread — but it also rolls on hard-packed dry ground, which you generally wouldn't expect.

The tread

Tall, widely spaced cubic blocks, with pronounced shoulder knobs. The surprise of the model is its low rolling resistance despite this relief: the blocks are close enough together in the centre for the contact to stay continuous, and the soft rubber works rather than bouncing.

The two casings

Your choice: standard 60/90 TPI (400 g, up to 4.5 bar), robust and economical, for training and abrasive courses; or Flexus 210/315 TPI (350 g, up to 3 bar), noticeably more supple, which absorbs better and lets you drop the pressure — the race version. The rubber does not change: a soft compound that cushions shocks.
