What it does
The Elite Ride is the tubular for comfort and bad roads. Cobbles, battered roads, long spring classics: it is the model to fit when the course wears out tyres more than legs.
The tread
Its tread is wide and wraps onto the sidewall, which puts rubber where a narrow tubular has none — at the precise moment when the bike hits the lean. In the centre, a system of sipes clears water; on the sides, double-diamond knobs give grip on dry and wet ground.
Protection and versions
A puncture-protection layer in the centre takes the shocks and punctures, backed by a rubber puncture strip. Casing 210/375 TPI, rubber compound SPC Silica. Available in 23 and 25 mm, in black, red/black or beige sidewalls, and as a tubular-clincher (C Elite Ride) for hooked rims.
What's inside
 An extra layer of rubberised casing under the tread: a sufficient barrier against most punctures, without hurting efficiency. |
 Tufo's reference road compound: 66 Shore A, a blend of natural and synthetic rubbers loaded with activated silica, for wet grip and low rolling resistance. |
 A thickness of rubber placed under the tread: whatever gets through the rubber stops there before reaching the casing. It adds to the model's puncture barrier; it does not replace it. Tufo calls it “protective rubber ply”. |

Glued, or fixed with Tufo double-sided tape: Tufo Double-Sided Tape for road tubulars — no drying time, you ride straight away. Inside, the Tufo Anti-Puncture Sealant — Standard injected through the valve before the first ride seals punctures up to 5 mm. This model also exists as a tubular-clincher, which fits without glue on an ordinary hooked rim.
